Connect Throttle to Foundry
Throttle is a hosted headless cart, checkout, and payments engine. Pair it with Foundry to get a complete storefront: Foundry powers the catalog and inventory, Throttle handles the buyer's cart and payment, and orders flow straight back into Foundry for fulfillment. You build the frontend; neither system makes you run a catalog you don't want or a checkout you'd rather not.

How it fits together
Foundry is the catalog; Throttle is the checkout
Your storefront reads products and live inventory from Foundry's Storefront API and renders them however you like. When a shopper checks out, Throttle runs the cart and takes payment. Throttle intentionally has no product catalog of its own — each line item just references the Foundry variant it came from.
Orders come home to Foundry
When an order is placed or paid in Throttle, Foundry pulls it in automatically — matching each line back to the right variant, recording the customer, and reserving stock across all your channels. Cancellations and refunds release those reservations; shipping and completion commit them.
Fulfillment flows back out
When you fulfill an order in Foundry, the shipment and tracking details are pushed back to Throttle so the buyer's order status and notifications stay accurate.
Prerequisites
A Throttle workspace with an API key
From your Throttle dashboard at app.usethrottle.dev, create a secret API key under Settings → API keys. It needs read access to orders (so Foundry can pull them) and write access to fulfillments (so Foundry can push tracking).
A storefront that reads catalog from Foundry
Your Throttle-backed storefront should source its catalog from Foundry's Storefront API and carry the Foundry variant reference on each cart line. If you haven't built that yet, start with the headless integration.
Connect in Foundry
Add a Throttle channel
In Foundry, go to Sales Channels → Add Channel, name it, and pick Throttle as the platform. On the channel's Settings page, paste your Throttle API key.
Register webhooks & enable order sync
Click Register webhooks — Foundry subscribes to Throttle's order and payment events so new orders arrive in seconds. Then turn on Order Sync. A scheduled reconcile also runs on a timer as a safety net, so nothing is missed during a brief outage.
List your products for the storefront
List the products you want available on this channel. Their variants become the catalog your storefront reads through the Storefront API, and the reference each Throttle order line matches back to.
Verify the connection
Place a test order
Check out through your Throttle storefront. Within a few seconds the order should appear on Foundry's Orders page, tagged with the channel, with stock reserved for each line.
Fulfill and confirm tracking syncs back
Fulfill the order in Foundry, then check the order in Throttle — the shipment and tracking number should be reflected there.
